What strategy do you use to help remember a troublesome word to spell?

I try to sound out words I don't know. I can never remember how to spell the word "Wednesday," because I always forget that there's a silent "d" in the middle. I say Wensday, but I know it's not spelled like that. So, the strategy I use is simply to try and remember because to spell it Wensday just doesn't look right.

I can never remember how to spell February. Here's what I do. I break it up into parts like this― Feb-r-u-ary, and I ask myself the question "Feb, Are You Ary?" I just have to remember that the first "r" is silent.

I have a problem with words that end in an e. Especially words that are first nouns and then can be used as verbs. For example, the word "bite" has an e on the end, but when I change it to a verb like "biting," I have to remind myself to drop the e. Spell check on my computer really helps me too.
