Leading for Literacy Forum Materials
The Ohio Resource Center and the Ohio Department of Education’s Office of Literacy have partnered to present a series
of Leading for Literacy Forums, adolescent literacy leadership conferences specifically designed for Ohio administrators
and educators serving grades 6-12. The events featured national and regional literacy specialists focusing on effective
leadership and strategic planning for improving literacy. Team participation from Ohio schools and districts was encouraged
in order to further literacy through collaboration across disciplines.
For your reference, many of the speakers’ handouts are available by clicking on the links below, as are the Forum agenda.
Also available is a publication of professional articles by the Forum presenters called
Leading for Literacy:
A Compendium of Best Practices for Successful Leadership in Adolescent Literacy.
Lastly, the quotes that were used as table centerpieces for the Leading for Literacy Forum
are available as well. These quotes on literacy were taken from various
Adolescent Literacy In Perspective articles. To access past and present issues of our
web-based journal, Adolescent Literacy In Perspective, visit http://www.ohiorc.org/adlit/.
