Students with reading difficulties often face additional learning challenges in content area classrooms. This article describes an adaptation of the Language Experience Approach (LEA) that has been successful in helping struggling readers master content area material and improve their reading skills. By using comprehension reading strategies, teachers support students in accessing information from traditional textbooks.
