Tutorials for High School Mathematics

Tutorials for High School Mathematics presents 26 online tutorial lessons designed to help adult and returning workforce students review high school mathematics topics. The topics are basic to student success in postsecondary science, computer science, and engineering courses. Each tutorial lesson features a short video reviewing key mathematical procedures and ideas and demonstrating their application. Students are encouraged to work along with the video. After viewing the video, students should take the Self-Check to evaluate their understanding of the topic. Each tutorial includes a printable copy of the video presentation and provides a list of additional online resources. Please note that not all materials are live. New video tutorials and supporting materials are being launched weekly.

Technology Treasure Trunk

Are you looking for mathematics lessons to engage your students? Do you like to use calculators and other technologies in your classroom to investigate mathematics in a hands-on way? Like a trunk in an attic, the Technology Treasure Trunk contains ORC instructional and content teaching treasures categorized by level and type of technology. Many compartments are already active, and more are being added all the time.

Ambassadors available for school/district training

ORC has trained more than 100 experienced Ohio educators to provide professional development and interactive workshops. The Ambassadors focus on the use of ORC resources and professional development materials for teaching standards-based mathematics, science, and English language arts. Some of the Ambassadors have also received training in the use of Thinkfinity (formerly MarcoPolo) resources so that they can offer lesson plans and other resources in additional content areas such as social studies, art, and music.

Please visit the ORC Ambassador website to request an Ambassador to provide professional devopment for your school or district, apply to become an Ambassador, or just learn more about the program. Also, be sure to click on the Ohio map to learn about the ORC Ambassadors in your region of the state.
