From the National Endowment for the Humanities and EDSITEMENT, this resource helps students read and interpret the original document by working their way through the text and answering questions about each section. Students further engage with the text by writing an essay in which they define and defend their understanding of the significance of the document. Four engaging and thoughtful essay topics and essay outline worksheets are provided to help students organize their ideas, evidence, and analysis.
