Assistive Technology
Assistive technology applications are opening doors to educational opportunities
in innovative and promising ways. In general, assistive technology encompasses
a broad range of equipment and strategies that enable students to effectively
access and participate in all aspects of instruction. Use these resources to
provide preservice and practicing teachers with a sense of how assistive
technologies can make education accessible for all.

Assistive Technology in the Teacher Education
Program at Wright State University
Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio has taken several measures to ensure
preservice educators have access to information regarding assistive technology
for students with varying needs. This paper describes the adaptive lab and
highlights current courses for the Intervention Specialist master's degree
program, a recently approved course in assistive technology, and a web course
surrounding the specific needs of an inclusive science classroom.
