### Welcome to the ORC Problem Corner!

• Are you looking for mathematically rich problems to motivate, challenge, or inspire your students?
• Do you want some ideas for group investigations?
• Would you like some open-ended inquiries that students can pursue as far as their mathematical background and interest allow?

ORC has a nice collection of intriguing, inquiry-oriented mathematics problems for grades 3–12, and we will keep adding more in the future. Click here to see the entire list of problems, or narrow your search by topic and grade level below.

Rich Problems for the Program Models These problems highlight useful applications of mathematics and will appeal especially to students in grades 8 – 12. These mathematically rich problems were developed by ORC to supplement the Mathematics Program Models for Ohio High Schools developed by the Ohio Department of Education.
Discovery Problems Many of these open-ended problems are accessible to students as young as 3rd grade, yet are rich enough to engage high school students in important mathematics. These problems were originally developed for Project Discovery’s Mathematics by Inquiry Summer Institutes for middle grades teachers but are useful with a much broader range of students.
Stella's Stunners Have fun with some challenging and off-beat mathematical problems, grades 6 - 12. These problems are not included in the drop-down menus to the left but are accessible from the Stella homepage.
