Enhancing Science Instruction with Inquiry Challenges professional development program

Enhancing Science Instruction with Inquiry Challenges

Inquiry challenges provide students with opportunities to build appropriate scientific attitudes and abilities and to investigate standards-based scientific concepts by engaging students in problem solving that requires real-world application of scientific concepts. Inquiry challenges allow teachers to address the standards in creative innovative ways. This program prepares teachers to use existing inquiry challenges and develop their own.

The program consists of a two-day workshop on July 30-31, a two-hour online meeting on October 8, and online support throughout the academic year. Middle and high school science teachers are invited to attend.

Additional information about the program is available at http://www.ohiorc.org/orc_documents/orc/fyi/Terry_Enh_Sci_Instr.pdf.

Download the registration form at http://www.ohiorc.org/orc_documents/orc/fyi/Terry_Enh_Sci_Reg.pdf.

The registration deadline has passed, but there are still a few seats left. If you are interested in participating contact Terry Shiverdecker for more information.
