"Ben and Jerrys Flavor Graveyard" is a lesson created by EconEdLink. Students will enjoy this practical exercise about scarcity, productive resources and opportunity cost. Ben & Jerry Ice Cream Company must make decisions about ice cream flavors. The flavors that are not chosen are sent to the "Ben & Jerry's Flavor Graveyard". After class discussion, students will apply this concept with a video game company that they own. IN the culminating activity students are asked to write a letter explaining why they would discontinue producing a certain video game using all of the economic terms relating to opportunity cost.
