Your Neighborhood is a part of Bens Guide to the U.S. government website. This easy to use website identifies six government agencies that provide public services. These services are post office, fire station, police station, hospital, school and library. Clicking any one of the six takes students to a colorful, easy to read, informational page about the service. Each page has a short paragraph describing the service and a reflective question. Each page also has a link to the official government web page of the service. Many are the official kid pages. This government website will be interesting to most students. The information specifically identifies the purpose of the service and gives examples of ways the service is of value to the student. It is clearly written and very appropriate for third graders.
