"The Price We Pay for Health: US and Canada" is a web-based lesson prepared by EconEdLink in which students compare the health care systems of the U.S. and Canada. The lesson presents both sides of the debate on national health insurance. The lesson would be also useful in teaching students to compare statistics and compose a thesis. The site includes a wide variety of resources ranging from charts & graphs, to first person accounts, to position papers. The site includes some summative assessment questions. One link on the site took students to a comparison of health care systems around the industrialized world. This would be useful if a teacher wanted to guide students in comparing healthcare in various nations. Students could use these resources to collect data to develop and support a thesis. It would also be a resource to use when teachers wanted students to compare statistics involving different nations.
