Many teachers integrate the speeches of Martin Luther King Jr. into their classroom instruction. This resource provides ideas for examining the message of Dr. King, as well as the words that he used to communicate his ideas. Working cooperatively, students identify the literary devices that found in the "I Have A Dream" speech and give a presentation to show their interpretation of an excerpt from the speech. While the resource offers specific strategies for analyzing the speech, students must have a working knowledge of various literary devices.
