This lesson uses familiar words from a traditional story to teach and reinforce students' understanding of letter-sound correspondence. The lessons begins with a shared reading of The Gingerbread Man with the whole class. Students then use words from the story to practice letter-sound correspondence as they play an interactive game online. Technology is also used as students write and publish their own stories online using words drawn from the text. Links to resources used in the lesson are available at the website. (author/ncl)
