This is a great hands-on project that will help students conceptualize the causes and effects of ozone. It is particularly useful for Environmental Systems students because it directly applies to its content. Manufacturing Technologies and Transportation Systems students will find the lesson useful because issues in their career areas are a direct result of the ozone problem. Health Science students will also find the project useful because it specifically addresses health concerns as a consequence of ozone pollution. Career-technical students, because they tend to be participatory learners, should find this project engaging because it involves little direct instruction and much student directed discovery. In the project, students will read and interpret data charts, create graphs, use algebraic equations, and make predictions. (jrs)
