What's That Snake? is a handy online guide to over 30 species and subspecies of snakes native to Ohio. If teachers, students, or amateur snake charmers want to quickly identify a snake by its appearance, they can use the quick id tool, which follows a dichotomous-key format. Users can also search by name to find information on a known species of snake. What's That Snake? provides a detailed profile on each snake, including its appearance, average length, favorite foods, and common geographic range. The program also sheds light on common myths and misconceptions about snakes, and provides a glossary of snake-related terms. What's That Snake? allows users to get an up-close look at dangerous snakes like the Northern Copperhead and Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake. What's That Snake? is a new snake-identification program created by the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) and the Ohio Historical Society (OHS). (author/kt)
