PROFESSIONAL COMMENTARY

With this content resource students can manipulate two vectors by changing the magnitude and direction of the force. Vectors can be stretched or rotated allowing students to verifythe head-to-tail vector addition principle. Both the rectangular and polar coordinates of the two addends and of the resultant are displayed in real time. (author/ts)

CAREER APPLICATION

Vectors are concepts that Engineering and Science and Construction Technologies students need to understand. These career fields incorporate many introductory physics concepts that rely on understanding vectors both theoretically and in application. This site allows either current physics students or students seeking a quick vector review an interactive analysis. Many students struggle with understanding vectors and this site should be helpful. This site would require additional resources in order to teach vectors effectively, but it could be very beneficial as a supplementary resource. (author/cb)
