Professional Commentary
This content resource consists of a one-page article about acid rain. The article discusses the history of acid rain, a description of the chemical changes that lead to acid rain, the consequences of acid rain, and some of the efforts being made to combat acid rain. The article is accurate but not highly technical making it accessible to students of all ability levels. This article could be used as a supplement to a lesson or unit on chemical change, the importance of technology in addressing environmental concerns, or the impact of environmental changes on organisms. This resource will have a greater impact on student learning if it is coupled with inquiry activities and classroom conversations about the topic. (ts)
