Testing Water's Skin
PROFESSIONAL COMMENTARY

This content resource engages students in a hands-on activity demonstrating cohesion, a physical property of water. Students are asked to add as many drops of water to a penny as possible and are then asked to repeat the activity using a water/detergent mixture. This lesson does not ask students to analyze their results, but it would be beneficial to have them explain the science behind this phenomenon using their data to support their conclusion.
