Random Sampling and Estimation: Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability Session 9
PROFESSIONAL COMMENTARY

This unit focuses on estimating characteristics of an entire population based on results from a random sample. To predict the accuracy of estimates, students investigate the variation in estimates based on repeated random samples from one population. The effect of sample size is also discussed. Though written for teachers, many of the examples can be used directly in high school classrooms. Some homework problems and video clips are included. (sw)
