This website has an excellent video on the dissection of a cow eye. The video is informative and highlights similarities and differences to human eyes. Although the video is very good, high school students may get distracted by the messenger and have difficulty hearing the message. Fortunately, there are also step-by-step illustrated directions (PDF format) that can be easily printed out and used by the class as an alternative to the video. For the older grades, the teacher/instructor can transcribe the video and deliver the message him/herself while students follow along on the printed instructions. There are printer-friendly eye diagrams and links to other web pages for further information. This could be used in a Health Science career field during a unit on opthamology or body systems.
