- The original blueprints and legal specifications, or a layout drawing, for the facility under review, including current locations of waste storage areas. If these documents are unavailable, teams could develop their own facility drawings or create an "ideal" facility layout.
- Several vehicles or vehicle parts that can be utilized to identify recyclables. Useful parts can be any parts available at the facility or donated by community partners. Useful parts include cast-off parts from previous repairs, damaged metal and plastic components, etc., or an entire vehicle if available as a donation.
- Computer access for Internet searches.
